Every half hour we scan the hot, new and top-of-the-day posts across the big trading subreddits, pull out the tickers people mention (validated against real symbols), and add up the upvotes and comments each one is drawing. Engagement ranks by that total, so a name in a few red-hot threads beats one sprinkled across dead posts. Most mentioned is raw post count, and Hot debate is comments per upvote, the threads people are arguing over. The velocity badge compares against the last scan, so a fast-rising name stands out, and the bull/bear bar is a rough read of the language in those posts.
