- Which stocks get halted the most?
- Over the last 30 days the most-halted US stocks were $FVNNU (8 halts), $WETO (7 halts), $RFAIU (6 halts). Stocks that halt repeatedly are almost always low-float, high-volatility small-caps that keep tripping the LULD volatility circuit as they run. This page ranks them by how many times each was halted, updated daily.
- Why do some stocks get halted over and over in one day?
- An LULD (Limit Up / Limit Down) volatility halt only pauses a stock for about five minutes. On a fast-moving small-cap, price keeps moving as soon as it resumes, so it trips the band again - and again. A single runner can rack up several halts in a session. That repeated halting is exactly what this ranking surfaces.
- What do the halt codes mean?
- LULD / LUDP are volatility pauses (moved too fast, ~5 minutes). T1 is news pending, T12 means the exchange requested more information, M is a single-stock volatility pause on the NYSE feed, and H-codes are regulatory. The code-frequency table above shows how common each is in our data, and the duration table shows how long each typically lasts.
